Reactor est le nouveau micro multi directionnel de Blue Microphones qui allie design et performance, tout en simplifiant les configurations avec plusieurs micros : Reactor inclue un sélecteur de polarité unique et innovant, ainsi qu?une tête pivotante pour faciliter le positionnement devant la source. La capsule est une Blue B6, et l?électronique en Classe A avec un préamplificateur silencieux lors de la sélection des différentes directivités (cardioïde, omni, et figure en 8). La capsule est rotative sur 90 degrés, ce qui permet littéralement de coller la tête devant une source place comme une grille d?ampli ou encore une grosse caisse de batterie. Quant au sélecteur de directivité, sa loupe rétro éclairée n?est pas un gadget esthétique, mais un témoin visuel utile en situation de prise de son, notamment dans la pénombre de certains studios, lorsqu?un éclairage feutré participe à l?ambiance d?un enregistrement intimiste. La capsule du Reactor est essentiellement basée sur la fameuse B6 de Blue (capsule du micro Kiwi) qui a un rendu ouvert et très détaillé dans les aigus. Les médiums sont doux et les basses solides et tenues, avec une longue pente sous les 100 Hz. Le préampli intégré a été créé pour le Reactor, avec de belles performances sans bruit de fond ni distortion. Reactor est tout à fait à l?aise avec les voix, les guitares acoustiques (folks ou classiques), et également les percussions et autres sources acoustiques qui exigent une définition précise de reproduction.
